Sacramento Regional Transit District

Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) operates 97 bus routes and 36.87 miles of light rail covering a 418 square-mile service area. RT’s entire bus and light rail system is accessible to the disabled community. Also, RT provides a door-to-door transportation service (in accordance with its responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act) for Sacramento area residents who are unable to use fixed-route service.


Paratransit, Inc., is a private nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing transportation services to individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and related agencies throughout the Sacramento County area.

Yuba-Sutter Transit

The Yuba-Sutter Transit offers scheduled local fixed route service from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. No service is available on Sundays. Six routes provide service to Yuba City, Marysville, Linda and Olivehurst. Buses operate every 30 to 60 minutes. Convenient timed transfers are available at Yuba College; the North Beale Road Transit Center; the Yuba County Government Center; Alturas and Shasta Streets; and, the Walton Terminal (Sam’s Club/Sunsweet).


Dial-A-Ride is Yuba-Sutter Transit’s complimentary paratransit service under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Passengers with disabilities that prevent them from using Yuba-Sutter Transit’s urban fixed route bus system may apply for ADA status to receive priority service on Dial-A-Ride.

Dial-A-Ride offers curb-to-curb shared ride service to eligible passengers anywhere within the cities of Yuba, Marysville, Linda and Olivehurst. This service is available from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. No service is provided on Sundays.

Adaptive Sports

Access Leisure – Programs for Persons with Disabilities

The City of Sacramento, Access Leisure, offers a variety of adapted sports programs such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair softball, power soccer, Access Aquatics and even a cheerleading team. They also offer information on where you can participate in wheelchair tennis, adapted waterskiing, white water rafting, dance, drama, the arts, adapted downhill or cross country snow skiing, and adapted weight training for adults.

Disabled Sports USA

DS/USA now offers nationwide sports rehabilitation programs to anyone with a permanent disability. Activities include winter skiing, water sports, summer and winter competitions, fitness and special sports events. Participants include those with visual impairments, amputations, spinal cord injury, dwarfism, multiple sclerosis, head injury, cerebral palsy, and other neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions.
